Apr 26, 2016  Hi there, I own an Aria ProII Avante Series 6 string bass serial number S4080836 made of Swamp Ash body and 3 piece rock maple neck through, natural finish, original pickups and preamp. I would like to know the year and country where it was built. It is a great sounding bass: I suppose it was made between 1995 and 1998. Aria was formed in Japan in 1956 by Shiro Arai as 'Arai & Co., Inc'. Starting in 1964, Matsumoku built all of their guitars under contract. The brand name was changed to 'Aria Pro II' in 1975.

'Dating Aria guitars is a mix of fair precision and historical triangulation. The early guitars did not contain serial numbers, so you have to go by the rough historical outlines here. There are no pot codes. In the mid-'70s serial numbers began to be used. At least for Aria guitars made by Matsumoku, the serial number contains the year of manufacture in the first one or two digits (Y##### or YY####). Thus, a guitar from 1979 might begin with 79####.

One from 1981 might begin with 1#####. The scheme becomes less sure after 1987. Some Korean- made guitars use a serial number with year and week indicated in the first four digits (YYWW####). Thus 9628#### would be from the 28th week of 1996. However, this is not the case on all guitars, and some have serial numbers which are not date-coded.' ********** 'Look at it this way: think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of 'em are stupider than that.' - George Carlin 'It shouldn't be expected that people are necessarily doing what they appear to be doing on records.'

- Sir George Martin, All You Need Is Ears 'The music business will be revitalized by musicians, not the labels or Live Nation. When the musicians decide to put music first, instead of money, the public will flock to the fruits and the scene will be healthy again.' - Bob Lefsetz. Crazybump download with crack pc.

I'm asking because I see this gutiar for sell dirt cheap on the internet. If it's made in Japan it's a good deal, right? We can't know if it's a 'good deal' or not because we don't know the selling price.

Most Japanese Aria Pros aren't worth that much money on the resale market, particularly the bolt-on neck types. The Arias with set-neck and thru-neck construction are more desirable but still 'sleepers' as they often sell for about $300. The pictures look like a generic strat copy, nothing too special, and probably not worth more than $100 or so, in my opinion. That's the thing though.the neck plate doesn't look right to me.all the (early) MIJ one's I've seen and the one I have, either say Matsumoku then the serial number then Made in Japan. Or have Aria Pro II written straight across with 'accurate bolt system' sometimes written under that then serial number then Made in Japan. That one has Aria on an angle.doesn't have a serial number (big sign right there) and that doesn't say Made in Japan.
